JOHN MARTYN Live At Leeds (Limited Edition 1975 UK private press 6-track LP distributed by mail order from the artist’s front room in Hastings & famously recorded during a very boozy stint at Leeds University on February 13th 1975 [where The Who's Live At Leeds was recorded], aided by bassist Danny Thompson & guest starring free jazz drummer John Stevens & a drug-addled Paul Kossoff! The story goes that after Inside Out was released, John wanted to put out a live album. Island didn't agree but were happy to let John sell the album by mail order & even organised EMI to press a limited run with an Island catalogue number. Only a few hundred were actually signed & numbered by John. This is a fantastic one owner copy. The back cover is clearly AUTOGRAPHED by John Martyn with a message in blue biro at the top & hand numbered '341' at the bottom. The sleeve shows just a little light discolouration & ringwear and the vinyl is Excellent with just a few faint signs of play ILPS9343)
