VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR H To He, Who Am The Only One (Very rare 1970 UK first issue 5-track vinyl LP on the pink 'scroll' Charisma label, housed in a stunning gatefold sleeve with lyrics printed on the reverse. This third album by the band offers up a wonderfully bleak brand of prog rock featuring solid bass from Nic Potter [The Misunderstood], twisted Hammond organ riffs a-plenty from Hugh Banton, wonderfully skronky, aggressive sax from David Jackson all coupled with the anguished lyrics and vocal delivery from Mr Hammill himself. The gatefold sleeve shows light scuffing along all edges and a few areas of print fade with otherwise bright colours and clearly legible text. The vinyl shows light signs of play with only small cosmetic blemishes which are minor and have no real impact on play, there is a little mottling to the labels and a small annotated name on side A - otherwise an excellent copy of this increasingly hard to find album!
