MILES DAVIS + 19 Miles Ahead (1957 first UK pressing 10-track mono LP on a 'rough' textured black & silver Fontana label, with Orchestra under the direction of Gil Evans, housed in a beautiful front laminated flipback sleeve with the original withdrawn 'sailboat' image. The ever forthright Miles, a man not known to mince his words, objected to this first design cover depicting a young white woman & child aboard a sailboat - Miles supposedly asked Columbia executive George Avakian,"Why'd you put that white bitch on there?" The cover has lovely rich colours & unmarked laminate [tiny curl back on the bottom flip far right] & appears Excellent with minimal signs of wear. The vinyl has a lovely deep sheen & grades Excellent with merely the lightest evidence of play TFL5007)
