PRIX Girl (1977 US wide centred 7" single on the seminal New York DIY label Ork Records, also featuring Everytime I Close My Eyes & Zero. This is one of the great could-have-been records to follow in the wake of Big Star [sadly, Prix never did gain traction or start a real career]. The songwriting & delivery comes courtesy of Tommy Hoehn, who appeared on Third/Sister Lovers. The first two tracks really do sound like Big Star at their peak & 'Zero' is one of the most brilliantly damaged, Chilton-esque, art-pop/punk tunes you will find. The vinyl grades VG/VG+ with just some light crackle before the songs kick in. Essential)
