DR JOHN Gris Gris (1972 US second stereo issue on the yellow ATCO label, pasted picture sleeve with company catalogue inner. Originally released in 1968 and signifying the birth of Dr John, The Night Tripper, previously known as Mac Rebennack! A unique fusion of voodoo mysticism, funk, rhythm & blues, psychedelic rock and Creole roots, includes the amazing 8-minute 'I Walk On Gilded Splinters': sheer genius! The sleeve shows just some light shelfwear and the vinyl has just the odd very faint hairline to indicate play SD33-234)
