THE STRANGLERS The Raven (Very rare test pressing for the 1979 UK 11-track vinyl LP with UAG30262 & A1-U/B1-U matrices stamped into the dead wax to indicate this is the first pressing, white die-cut sleeve with hand-written artist/title labels. What a find! This promotional set was obtained from a former NME journalist and is, quite possibly, a unique surviving artefact. Includes the test pressing for thealbum plus a two-page red United Artists press release ["Once upon a time in a town called Guildford four boys decided to form their own pop group"!] which reads as a brilliantly sarcastic "up yours" to the music press, great front cover cartoon illustration too. Also included are ten pages of typed lyrics and an A4 sized, ever-so-slightly, cryptic note from the Modern Publicity Plugging Company responsible for promotion. This genuine one owner collection is in fantastic condition, the paper goods show just a little creasing and the vinyl is Mint and quite possibly unplayed. Needless to say, we've never had one of these before and it's extremely unlikely we'll see be seeing one again and comes highly recommended! UAG30262
