NINA SIMONE Sings The Blues (2013 UK/EU limited edition 11-track LP pressed on 180-gram audiophile black vinyl. Nina Simone sings at her passionate best on this 1967 release. This is a tremendous artist accurately reproducing native blues in amost compelling fashion. There are no mannerisms. Affectation never enters the picture. There is no hiding behind big bands, studied arrangements or audio effects. Miss Simone simply sings - with heart at all times, with guts on certain tunes andwith abandon on everything. With the help of a classy small backing band including Eric Gale on guitar. Picture sleeve with liner notes by Sid McCoy. The sleeve shows only minor edgewear and the vinyl remains in excellent condition MOVLP878)
