Go-Go Big Beat!!

THE BEATLES/VARIOUS Go-Go Big Beat!! It's The Biggest Beat In Beatle-Land! Tracklisting & More Information

1965 original US one-sheet (measuring 27" x 41") movie poster (numbered 65/205) for the obscure 1965 British film "Go-Go Big Beat", which is essentially a compilation of three short films, “Swinging UK”, “UK Swings Again”, and “Mods and Rockers.”

The first two films were directed by Frank Gilpin and consisted of a string of popular groups all lip-syncing to their then-current records, as this poster proclaims "For all you swingers! HEAR! HEAR! Millie Small - My Boy Lollipop and Oh Henry, The Animals - Baby Let Me Take You Home, The Four Pennies - Juliet and Running Scared, Lulu and the Luvvers - Shout, The Merseybeats - Fools Like Me and Don't Turn Around, The Wackers - Love Or Money, The Hollies - Here I Go Again and Baby That's All."

The third segment of the movie, entitled "Mods And Rockers" caused controversy when Brian Epstein instituted legal proceedings after the publicity material - this poster included - suggested that The Beatles would appear in the film. In fact, whilst their music was used to accompany a small ballet sequence within the film it was actually performed by an obscure band called The Cheynes. The show was closed down shortly after the premiere, primarily because of the misleading publicity and display material.

The bottom section of this poster proudly displays the text "Hear These Beatles' Greats!" followed by the song titles "Please Please Me / From Me To You / Bad To Me / I Want To Be Your Man / This Boy / She Loves You / Don't Bother Me."

This rare original remains in EXCELLENT condition. The colours are vibrant, the black block text is bold and unfaded, and the black & white images are clearly printed and set. This poster has been stored folded and would benefit from being mounted and framed should you choose to display it. A rare opportunity to acquire this obscure original, now over 40 years old.
