ERSKINE HAWKINS QUINTET The Hawk Blows At Midnight (Rare original 1960 UK Brunswick label 12-track MONO 'microgroove' vinyl LP. After many years of recording with a big band, Hawkins cuts his first album here with a small combo; sharing the frontline with him is Bobby Smith and Leroy Kirkland. The group is completed by a tight rhythm section that comprises of Ernest Hayes, Shep Shepherd and Lloyd Trotman.Remarkably, the front laminate flipback 'scalloped' picture sleeve has only light ringwear to show for its 48 years of age whilst the vinyl appears near mint.
