CHRISTOPHER CROSS The Cafe Carlyle Sessions (2009 UK 15-track CD album - Christopher Cross was the biggest new star of 1980, virtually defining adult contemporary radio with a series of smoothly sophisticated ballads. He is best known by most for his Top Ten hit songs 'Sailing', 'Ride Like The Wind' & 'Arthur's Theme [Best That You Can Do]'. 'The Café Carlyle Sessions' is Christopher's 1st album in nearly 10 years; and comprises 15 songs personally selected and completely re-recorded.The idea to re-record his classics started when was asked to perform an acoustic gig at the Carlyle in New York. Cross found the new minimal versions so exciting that he wanted to record an entire album of acoustic, jazz influenced new versions of his classics.)
