JOHN COLTRANE 'Live' At The Village Vanguard (1962 UK first press 3-track mono LP on the maroon & gold 'Nipper' label, a landmark recording in Trane's career; for the first time on record he performed elaborate, extended solos, revealing the first signs of an East Indian influence to broaden his palette, with backing from Eric Dolphy, McCoy Tyner, Reggie Workman & Elvin Jones, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The cover is Excellent with some minor corner scuffs, no writing & some light foxing on the back panel, with all text clear. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & grades EX/EX- with the occasional faint hairline & minor spindle mark to show play, complete with the HMV die-cut inner bag. Recommended CLP1590)
