FREDDIE MCGREGOR Mr McGregor (2009 issue UK 'Deluxe Edition' 17-track CD album - Originally released in June 1979, Freddie McGregor's premier LP is a premium sampling of the quality of reggae music that was being churned out in Jamaica in the late 70's. The album's stalwart selections established the rootsy, Rasta, lovers and cover tunes that Freddie fans have come to expect from his releases throughout his lengthy career. While 'Bobby Bobylon' is rightfully regarded as a Studio One gem, the more obscure 'Mr McGregor' is a diamond in the rough waiting to be discovered. Produced by Winston Holness [aka Niney the Observer], 'Mr McGregor' has a raw, gritty edge in contrast to Coxone's carefully polished 'Bobby Bobylon'. This deluxe edition now comes expanded with 7 Bonus Recordings including 4 showcase disco mixes.)
