VARIOUS Goodbye, Babylon (Superb 2003 issue US only 6-CD gospel collection - five CDs contain 135 songs in total and date from 1902-1960, the 6th disc featuires 25 tracks recorded between 1926-1941 - each disc is devoted to a different aspect ofspiritual music including Wilma Lee & Stoney Cooper, Uncle Dave Macon, Blind Willie Johnson, The Stanley Brothers, Hank Williams, Carter Family, Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey and a host of others. Also includes a 200-page book complete with Bible verses, lyric transcriptions, and notes for each recording plus over 200 illustrations along with notes and essays by musicologists and scholars. The discs come housed in their own card wallet sleeve and packed in raw cotton, presented in a deluxe 8" x 11" x 2½" cedar box with a Biblical image on the lid)
