Far rarer than the almost impossible to find blue label version, the vinyl on this astonishing copy is in amazing EX+/NM condition & the sleeve too, apart from some historic tape staining at the openingedge is also in similar condition with the pinched spine text fully readable. The first one of these we have ever seen & quite possibly the last we will see in such incredible condition!)

Info :-

This was issued on blue, red & green labels. The identifiers for this rare series are 'Compact 33 Double' under the RCA logo & a BIEM logo & encircled M to the left of the solid centre hole.
The label is printed silver on red.
Most copies of these that surface are on the blue label, but even that is extremely rare. Next rarest is the green, which would be valued at approximately twice that of the blue, then the incredibly rare red label version which is twice as rare again as the green.
This is one of those incredibly rare red labels !

The disc itself was imported into the UK (the fourteen shillings & threepence sticker is still on the back) & it has been well cared for over the last forty five years. There are NO scuffs or scratches whatsoever on the playing surface and the few marks around the spindle area indicate very little play indeed.

The sleeve is also in amazing condition with just one small dent to the top left corner (that may well have happened in 1961!). The flipbacks are secure & as previously mentioned the original price sticker is still stuck to the top flipback.
The pinched spine is crisp & easily read, the whites are white. The only thing that prevents a mint grading is a thin band of tape residue at the opening, where the edge was once taped with clear tape. This was common practice at the time for people who cared about their records to stop any tearing at the opening with use. Being on laminate, this may well be easily cleaned from the outside with care but we have left it 'as is', just as it has been since 1961 with the exception that the tape has now disappeared.

The back of the sleeve once again sports the 'Compact 33 Double' logo in a yellow flash at the bottom, just to the right of the RCA logo. The '33.001 MEDIUM' catalogue number sits in a similar yellow box at the top, to the right of 'Elvis Presley With The Jordinaires'.

One of the rarest Elvis discs in the world in better condition than anybody would have thought possible for a forty five year old French 7", imported into the UK all those years ago for someone who cared about their records.

If you're having any second thoughts, just try & find this little gem on eBay. If you do, take a look at the ripped sleeve, the written-on labels, the scratched vinyl & the price. Then you'll notice it's the 'common' blue label anyway.

See you back here in about half an hour then :-)
