ROY ORBISON At The Rock House (2009 issue UK 'Expanded Edition' 37-track CD album - Although Roy Orbison is best remembered these days for the dramatic angst-ridden ballads such as 'It's Over', 'Crying' and 'In Dreams' which he recorded for the Monument label in the sixties, he first hit the spotlight in 1956 at Sun Records with his hit 'Ooby Dooby'. His album 'At The Rock House' was released by Sun in 1961 and was a collection of twelve highlights from his recordings for the label. Bracing and exciting, these tracks all have a distinct edge to them and stand midway between the rock'n'roll sound of the time and the more lush and emotional sound he was to perfect in the next decade. This bumper edition of the album has been generously expanded to include all his Sun singles, which feature versions which differed from the album ones, along with several undubbed versions. It is rounded off with a number of demos and other recordings which were unearthed from the Sun vaults and issued in later years.)
