THE FLAMING LIPS Christmas On Mars (2008 Japanese promotional sample 2-disc [Region 2 NTSC DVD/CD] set issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual release date. The DVD features the fantastical film freakout which has been in production since 2001, directed by front man Wayne Coyne alongside co-director George Salisbury [the band's audiovisual technician], the CD features the 12-track film score. Custom stamped inner rim on each disc complete with picture sleeve plus promo stickered obi-strip and still sealed from new WPZR-3010~1)

DVD: Full Feature Length Film.
Directed by front man Wayne Coyne alongside co-director George Salisbury [the band's audiovisual technician], many of the film's Mars sets were constructed in Coyne's back garden at his home in Oklahoma City. The film does indeed take place during Christmas time on Mars, as the colonisation of the Red Planet is underway. But when an oxygen generator and a gravity control pod malfunction, Major Syrtis [The Lips' Steven Drozd] and his team [including the Lips' bassist Michael Ivins] fear for the worst. Syrtis hallucinates about the birth of a baby, and many other strange things. Meanwhile, a compassionate alien superbeing [Coyne] arrives, inspiring and helping the isolated astronauts. Also appearing in the film are the band's road drummer Kliph Scurlock, manager Scott Booker, and many other familiar figures from The Lips' community.
