OLIVER NELSON The Blues And The Abstract Truth (Rare 1961 UK 6-track stereo LP on the gold rim HMV 'nipper' label, with a title later echoed by Leon Thomas in his Blues And The Soulful Truth mini-masterpiece. Blues And The Abstract Truth captures Nelson at his most modern alongside Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, George Barrow, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers and Roy Haynes, and was clearly an influence on future modernists [such as Thomas]. The front laminated flipback sleeve shows minimal wear and the vinyl is immaculate CSD1422)
