BIG WALTER HORTON Southern Comfort (Very rare 1969 UK purple London label 11-track stereo LP. Mighty Baby fans take note! The legend goes that Walter Shakey Horton visited the UK in 1968 for a festival, inadvertently teaming up with guitarist Martin Stone (Savoy Brown and Mighty Baby). bassist Jerome Arnold (the Butterfield Blues Band) and drummer Jessie C. Lewis (Otis Rush), with rented session time to produce this remarkable album. Martin was heavily under the influence of Hendrix at the time, and apparently ol' 'Shakey' was heavily under the influence of booze, passing out and leaving the rest of the group to end on an epic 12-minute psychedelic raga!
