JANE FROMAN Souvenir Album (Unusal but genuine 1952 Decca US issued boxed set of FOUR wide centred vinyl 7" records comprising all the eight tracks otherwise available on the 10" LP release, except in this case issued in a 7½" square picture box, much like atape reel box. Even more astonishing is that it still has the original separator sheets of paper that were put between the discs [they were unsleeved as new] to protect the labels. The separator sheets themselves state that they have 'no otheruseful function & may be discarded at your convenience'. Luckily, the previous owner did not follow this advice & as a consequence the vinyl remains excellent with just a few light surface scuffs. The box shows a fair amount of shelfwear with a sticker mark on the front & some edge scuffing but is unsplit & not doing at all badly for something sixty years old. A very strange curio from the early days of selling the '45' as a concept to the general public, to the extent that they released albums in that format to get people to try them. Sixty years on and the vinyl marketeers still use the same ploys!)
