UK 2-LP vinyl set
MIKE OLDFIELD Ommadawn (Very VERY rare & possibly unique test pressing for the DBX encoded Audiophile edition of the classic 1975 vinyl LP from Mike, with handwritten white labels & a copy of the retail issue laminated sleeve & picture inner that was either added at the time or later. The sleeve shows some corner creasing & a little light wear [but could be replaced] with the all important vinyl near 'as new'. What makes this SO special is that, according to the [uncredited]co-engineer on the album, Phillip Newell, the DBX version 'certainly got as far as the Acetate stage' but wasn't followed through as domestic DBX decoders never took off. The reason Philip was uncredited on the sleeve is that the sleeves were finished some months before the album and he was brought in for the last two months of recording, after they had been printed. To our knowledge, this DBX version [like some of the Quad remixes made] remains UNRELEASED to this day, making this probably one of the ultimate Mike Oldfield collectables out there! V2043DBX)
