NICK TRAVIS QUINTET The Panic Is On (Rare 1954 US 8-track mono LP on a 'deep groove' Nipper label, Nick's one and only session as leader, also featuring Al Cohn on Tenor, John Williams on Piano, Teddy Kotick on Bass & Art Mardigan on Drums. Somewhere back in the dim mists of time, the original sleeve for this was eaten by Chipmunks or otherwise mis-placed, to be replaced with a period plain white pasted sleeve with hand annotated details. The vinyl, surprisingly for an album nearly sixty years old that has had the sleeve evaporate at some point over time, remains in a very acceptable VG+/EX- condition, with just light surface scuffs to show for its chequered life. A bargain price fro something that in a years time will be an antique gem! LJM1010)
