JOHNNY COLES Little Johnny C (Rare 1963 US first issue 6-track mono LP on the 'New York USA' Blue Note label, with 'Van Gelder' stamped in the run-out along with the 'ear' etching. Also stars Leo Wright on Alto, Joe Henderson on Tenor, Duke Pearson on Piano, Bob Crenshaw on Bass & either Walter Perkins or Pete LaRoca on Drums, front laminated pasted picture sleeve. The sleeve [VG] has nice & strong panels with the original UK tax code sticker attached on the back. The rear panel shows where it was once reinforced with tape around the edges & there is a former reviewer's annotation in blue marker pen that highlights the players on the back with a written date to the side. This is tastefully done & historic, & doesn't spoil the design. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & grades VG+ sounding superb on a mono playback setting. There are some light scuff marks on side two which do not affect play BLP4144)
