She was also known as a griot [a West African storyteller and historian who preserves ancient stories and traditions through song] and was among the first female griots to achieve international fame.With a guest appearance by Sekou Batourou Kouyate, it is a vintage slice of West African traditional music, lovingly created by the masters of their craft.
