URBIE GREEN SEPTET New Faces - New Sounds (One-off 1953 UK 6-track mono 10" double-sided metal based ultra high-grade methyl cellulose lacquer acetate, also starring the likes of Jimmy Lyon, Doug Mettome, John Murtaugh & Sam Staff, with a unique wraparound artwork sleeve hand drawn by a keen fan over sixty years ago. The acetate has a Sapphire manufacturing label both sides with the tracklist printed in an alternate order to the Blue Note release. See 'more info' for further details...)

This disc was produced & overseen by a keen British fan of the period who witnessed the birth of modern jazz being exported from the States & also the homegrown variety, judging by the amount of Brit-Jazz acetates we have found from the same collection. This chap was also a keen illustrator.

The disc is housed between a 10" sized wraparound blue card sleeve. The artwork appears to be a unique line art idea.

The surface of the acetate is in superb condition, with few signs of cosmetic wear. This is a unique, homemade affair & one that could only have been produced by the hands of a true jazz fan.
