JOHN COLTRANE Standard Coltrane (Very scarce 1962 UK 4-track mono LP, pressed on heavyweight vinyl on a rough textured Esquire label with 'Van Gelder' stamp in the run-outs, sonically on a par with its US Prestige counterpart, if not better. Also stars Wilbur Hardin on Trumpet, Red Garland on Piano, Paul Chambers on Bass & Jimmy Cobb on Drums, recorded July 11 1958. Comes housed in a wonderful & unique front laminated flipback sleeve with small 'R' annotation bottom right on the back cover. The sleeve shows just a little mild chipping to the paper along the top. The vinyl is outstanding & in Excellent condition. Under a bright light there are a few faint signs of cosmetic wear which does not affect play. A lovely example of this high quality press 32-179)
