LULU Lulu - Heaven and Earth and the Stars (2017 UK 21-track CD - Following her hits throughout the 60s, Lulu signed to Wes Farrell's Chelsea Records label in 1972. The first album for Chelsea, 'Lulu', was recorded with the cream of US session musicians, and includes her interpretations of songs made famous by Aretha Franklin ('Do Right Woman, Do Right Man'), Willie Nelson ('Funny How Time Slips Away'), The Rascals ('Groovin'') and David Cassidy ('Could It Be Forever?'). In late 1973, Lulu hooked up with David Bowie and Mick Ronson, who produced and played on her versions of "The Man Who Sold The World" (a # 3 hit) and "Watch That Man". 1974 saw Lulu record that year's Bond film theme "The Man With The Golden Gun" with John Barry, and 1975 saw her back in the charts with "Take Your Mama For A Ride". These four tracks were rounded up with a further seven recordings and issued as the album 'Heaven And Earth And The Stars' in 1976; digipak picture sleeve with a booklet which contains full annotation by Alan Robinson)
