MUDDY WATERS At Newport 1960 (Historic first issue 1961 UK Pye Jazz label 9-track mono LP. A breakthrough performance in the history of blues when a jazz audience embraced & applauded this earthy Chicago sound to the fullest & for many in the crowd their first exposure to the music live. Muddy is backed by Otis Spann, James Cotton & guitarist Pat Hare, ripping through some incredible takes of I Got My Brand On You & Got My Mojo Working. The vinyl is graded VG/VG+ as there are some light hairlines visible, playtesting reveals no great loss in fidelity, the front laminated flipback picture sleeve is in Excellent condition with just some minor discolouration to the reverse to indicate age.
