THE GRASS I'll Keep On Holding On (Circa 1966 UK double sided metal based methyl cellulose lacquer acetate for a crude Beat/Garage-Folk single which never saw release, recorded at Modern Music Centre in Chiswick, West London [with custom studio labels] by one of many unsigned & long forgotten mid sixties teen groups. It's a cover of The Marvelettes tune, backed with a b-side called 'You've Been Cheating', which is also likely to be a Soul cover. Curiously, The Action [pre-Mighty Baby]cut a version of 'I'll Keep Holding On' for Parlophone in '66 with George Martin on production - the song was obviously being offered out for re-arrangement & for potential chart action around this time. The disc remains in remarkable condition for a 60s acetate with only the lightest few scuffs as evidence of play & perhaps only one of a small handful ever to be seen in circulation)
