Rollins Plays For Bird - G/EX

SONNY ROLLINS QUINTET Rollins Plays For Bird (Rare 1957 UK 9-track mono LP on a deep groove Esquire label, with machine stamped 'RVG' in the run-offs. This album was recorded within a year of Charlie Parker's passing, & opens with a 27-minute tribute of seven Bird associated tunes seamlessly stitched together. Also stars Kenny Dorham [trumpet], Wade Legge [piano], George Morrow [bass] & Max Roach [drums], front laminated flipback sleeve. The sleeve [G] has a split & area of card loss to the middle of the spine with a little laminate peeling and a small section of the bottom flipback missing. The heavyweight vinyl is graded as Excellent with just a few light hairline scuffs to show for its years)
