The fourth studio album by The Walker Brothers marked a significant return for Gary Leeds, Scott Engel and John Maus after an eight-year hiatus. No Regrets saw the group shift toward a richer blend ofcountry-inflected songwriting and contemporary pop, drawing on material by some of the most respected writers of the era, including Kris Kristofferson, Curtis Mayfield, Mickey Newbury, Janis Ian and Emmylou Harris. The title track became one of the band's most enduring recordings, reaching the Top 10 in both the UK and the Netherlands, and reaffirming the group's place in the early 1970s pop landscape. The album stands as a confident and mature statement, distinct from their earlier orchestral pop work while retaining the emotional weight that defined The Walker Brothers' sound.
