ART PEPPER Straight Life - The Story Of Art Pepper (First edition
1979 US hard cover 516-page autobiography. This copy is
autographed by Art on the first page, making this a
very rare find indeed. As told by Art and Laurie Pepper,
Straight Life is an honest and wrenching portrayal of the musician's
life and addictions, simply a must read, and includes extensive black &
white photographs. The dust jacket has some obvious wear and a
couple of small tears, but to its edges only. The inside pages have no
major blemishes. The discography part has been neatly annotated by
its previous owner, a former big band leader and Nems Enterprise
managing director, and together with its autograph makes for a rather
unique one-off artefact. A wonderful piece of jazz history!)

ART PEPPER The Art Pepper Quartet (Rare 1957 UK 7-track
mono 10" vinyl album on London, recorded by Tampa with
backing from Russ Freeman [piano], Ben Tucker [bass] &
Gary Frommer [drums]. The 10" picture sleeve is fully
laminated with scalloped flipbacks & shows ring wear & a
little discolouring at the edges over time [the top flipback has
a small name tear], yet all text is clearly legible & the cover
retains that vintage feel & is intact. The vinyl is clean & plays
through beautifully, despite a few small & light scuff marks
which have little to no affect on play. Very tough to find!
