DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET Jazz At Oberlin (1956 first US issue
5-track mono LP, pressed on Dark
Red Vinyl with matching dark red & gold Fantasy labels,
recorded live on campus in March 1953 with Paul Desmond, RonCrotty
& Lloyd Davis, pasted laminate picture sleeve. Both panels of the
sleeve are clean with no writing or creasing, surviving nearly sixty
years with just a few small edge splits which have been neatly tape
reinforced. The vinyl plays through superbly & would be realistically
graded VG/VG-, with only faint paper scuffs & hairlines to show for its
vintage. A nice addition to our jazz store!)

DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET featuring PAUL DESMOND Jazz At The
Black Hawk (1956 US issue of the 1953 8-track mono LP, recorded
September 1952 and February 1953 in San Francisco, Los Angeles and
Hollywood, with 'deep groove' red Fantasy label & pressed on
RED VINYL, front laminated pasted
picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little light wear with some
minor scuffing at the opening & a little age discolouration in places to
the unlaminated back, but all text is clearly readable & it is free of any
tears or writing. The vinyl too has survived particularly well and, with
the exception of one audible scratch on side one that does produce a
click, remains in excellent condition with few signs of play. Because of
this, we can only grade this copy VG/VG+, although for the majority of
the disc it remains EX-/EX. A nice copy of this rare fifty five year old
US coloured vinyl pressing at an advantageous price!)
