LP on the yellow above orange Candid label, featuring a collaboration
between Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Eric Dolphy, Roy Eldridge & Jo
Jones, with futher contributions from Jimmy Knepper, Tommy Flanagan
& more, textured pasted picture sleeve. In 1960 Charles Mingus
decided to organize an alternative festival to the Newport Jazz Festival
and recruited some like-minded players to join him. This original
album is credited tothe Jazz Artists Guild, although the subsequent
releases have been released under just Mingus' name. From the
opening track to the last, you will find amazing music that is well worth
the price of admission. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl
is immaculate. An unusual & very worthwhile volume in the Charles
