VARIOUS Fly Flying Ska (Rare 1964 UK first press 12-track
mono LP on a rough dark blue & silver Blue Beat label, Prince
Buster's marvellous second studio album, though more a
compilation of his production work at this point. Features many
Jamaican Ska legends, including The Skatalites ['Perhaps', later
used by the BBC], Toots & The Maytals [the hard-hitting 'Ska
War'], Don Drummond ['The Burial'], Millie Small, Roland
Alphonso & more. One of our favourite vocal numbers on this is
'The Greatest', where the mighty Prince goes one better than
Cassius Clay & announces himself as the double-greatest! The
front laminated flipback picture sleeve [VG+] reveals some
natural age wear scuffing & a few faint laminate creases. There is
a small name penned on the rear panel at the top, with no seam
splits & all text clearly legible. The vinyl is clean & grades
VG+/EX- with some faint paper hairlines & mild axial wear, with
no jumps or sticks & superb sound on a mono playback setting -
there is the occasional light background noise in the quiet
sections as expected, & these original Blue Beat UK pressings are
now so tough to find in serviceable condition. This is a superb
find, one we've never seen before & comes recommended!

PRINCE BUSTER Fowl Thief (1963 UK 7" vinyl single with intact four
prong centre, hold onto your porkpie hat, the Prince is socking
another boss punch with this ska treat, backed with Remember Me.
The vinyl on this copy shows few signs of surface marks and is
visually in VG condition but thanks to the wonders of heavy 60's vinyl
teamed with stickier-than-toffee Jamaican riddims, this copy plays
with only minor audible surface noise and is perfect for a spin at any
respectable blues party! A great copy of this hard-to-find monster

the Prince, one of the most important figures in the history of Ska &

stunning. The disc remains clean & still looks barely touched MS2)

PRINCE BUSTER National Ska: Pain In My Belly (Super Rare
1965 UK first press 12-track Mono LP on the original rough
textured dark blue & silver Blue Beat label, combining a
selection of Buster's own hits with a superb round-up of
Prince Busterproductions, including The Skatalites' 'Super
Charge', Don Drummond's 'Ska Town' & the classic 'I Got A
Pain', front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The flimsy
cover [VG+] has areas of creasing in the laminate from ring
wear with the odd tiny fracture in the paper around one or two
edges. The back panel remains nice & clean with a few minor
spots of ageing & signs of handling at the opening. There is no
writing & the flipbacks are clean & secure. The labels have no
tears or writing & there are some spindle marks & paper
hairline scuffs both sides of the disc. The vinyl has been
professionally cleaned & grades VG/VG+ with great sound &
no jumps or heavy clicks. So difficult to find & always far from
mint, this remains a nice example! BBLP804)
