A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...

CATAPILLA Catapilla (Very Rare 1971 UK 4-track vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label, a much sought after and groundbreaking early fusion of jazz and progressive rock, complete with 'Swirl' poly-lined company inner, gatefold picture sleeve)
See 'More Info' for further details of this rare gem ...

Tracklisting: An interesting and essential blend of progressive Jazz Rock that managed to avoid the symphonic sounds of their contemporaries. this is the first of just two album releases by the band, both of which are now quite rightly very collectable indeed. Condition The sleeve shows a degree of shelfwear & edge scuffing & while far from being the worst we've ever seen, it's not the best either. Not being laminated, this sleeve was prone to all sorts of wear, and this one is typical. That being said, nothing is to excess and the sleeve retains its 'vintage' feel and, although far from perfect, it remains very acceptable. The massive redemption for this copy is that the vinyl remains in spectacular condition with just the one groove either side that it was born with. There are no obvious surface scuffs of any kind evident and very little sign of play at all. I doubt very much that you could find better vinyl than this. A nice copy of one of the most sought after 'swirl' releases with the usual condition sleeve but far above average vinyl. Tracklisting 1. Naked Death 2. Tumbleweed 3. Promises 4. Embryonic Fusion Personnel: Anna Meek - Vocals Thierry Reinhardt - Tenor, Alto, Flute, Clarinet Hugh Eaglestone - Tenor Saxophone Robert Calvert - Alto, Tenor, Soprano [Not the Hawkwind Robert Calvert!] Dave Taylor - Bass Malcolm Frith - Drums Graham Wilson - Guitar
CATAPILLA Catapilla (Rare original 1971 US Vertigo 'swirl' label 4-track LP, a much sought after and groundbreaking early fusion of jazz and progressive rock. The pasted gatefold picture sleeve reveals just the lightest spine creasing and the vinyl is immaculate. A gem! VEL-1006)

Tracklisting: 1. Naked Death 2. Tumbleweed 3. Promises 4. Embryonic Fusion
CATAPILLA Catapilla (Very Rare 1971 South African 4-track vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label, a much sought after and groundbreaking early fusion of jazz and progressive rock, housed in a matt gatefold picture sleeve)

Condition The sleeve looks identical to the UK release, and non-laminated was prone to all sorts of wear, and this one is typical. This example is in a stunning condition, with some edge & corner scuffing, a little light ringwear on the back and one small spot of paper loss, easily reaching an Excellent grade. For something coming from South Africa, the vinyl remains in a spectacular condition. There are just a couple of light surface hairline which are cosmetic but that is all, and very little sign of play. I doubt very much that you could find better vinyl than this. A nice copy of one of the most sought after 'swirl' releases, and first South African pressing we have seen. Tracklisting 1. Naked Death 2. Tumbleweed 3. Promises 4. Embryonic Fusion Personnel: Anna Meek - Vocals Thierry Reinhardt - Tenor, Alto, Flute, Clarinet Hugh Eaglestone - Tenor Saxophone Robert Calvert - Alto, Tenor, Soprano [Not the Hawkwind Robert Calvert!] Dave Taylor - Bass Malcolm Frith - Drums Graham Wilson - Guitar
CATAPILLA Catapilla (Rare original 1971 German Vertigo 'swirl' label 4-track LP - a much sought after and groundbreaking early fusion of Jazz-Rock and Progressive in remarkable condition! The colour gatefold picture sleeve shows somelight edge scuffing, but is in otherwise excellent shape - clean and unmarked with intact edges and spine. The vinyl is a stunning near MINT with only a couple of faint scuffs visible under a strong direct light and pristine labelsfree from spindle wear - you'll be hard pressed to find a better copy than this! #6360029)

Tracklisting: 1. Naked Death 15:38 2. Tumbleweed 3:55 3. Promises 6:41 4. Embryonic Fusion 24:23
CATAPILLA Catapilla (1993 Japanese issue 4-track remastered CD, originally released in 1971 on the Vertigo 'swirl' label, a much sought after and groundbreaking early fusion of jazz and progressive rock, within a jewel case with fold-out picturesleeve. This issue was manufactured in the UK by Repertoire Records and exported to be sold in Japan by Belle Antique, includes a Japanese booklet and 'Euro Rock Masterpiece On CD' obi-strip MAR96237)

Tracklisting: An interesting and essential blend of progressive Jazz Rock that managed to avoid the symphonic sounds of their contemporaries. this is the first of just two album releases by the band, both of which are now quite rightly very collectable indeed. 1. CATAPILLA Changes (Mega rare original 1972 German Vertigo 4-track vinyl LP - the first and only 'swirl' label issue of the second outing from this avant-garde progressive sextet, housed in a laminated full colour single pocket picture sleeve variant. The sleeve shows negligible wear with only a little faint creasing to the laminate at the edges - it is clean with bright unfaded colours & all edges intact. The vinyl is simply stunning with just a couple of inaudible cosmetic marksto show for its thirty five years & perfect labels free from spindle wear- Magnificent!)
