A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
| CATAPILLA Changes (Mega rare original 1972 UK 4-track vinyl
LP on the Vertigo 'Swirl' label with '6360074 1Y//1 420 111' &
'6360074 2Y//1 420 112' stamped matrices. The second outing
from this avant-garde progressive sextet, only ever released onthis label design without any reissues, considered by some as
one of the holy-grail Vertigo collectables. Housed in a unique
die-cut gatefold matt picture sleeve with an internal pocket
designed by Martin Dean, and includes the original '0671' dated
poly lined swirl inner. Please see more information below for
details on the condition of this very hard to find pressing)
Tracklisting: Condition
The sleeve design is known for being very fragile due to not being laminated, like a lot of the Vertigo early releases. This example has a small tear on the front from a possible sticker removal. Otherwise the sleeve has only light age related wear mostly to the edges & spine. The print inside shows only light wear as you would expect.
The poly lined swirl inner is dated '0671', correct for this album's release period, and shows only light signs of age.
The labels feature the Small swirl design with VERTIGO above the spindle. There are no known reissues.
This has the stamped matrices:
6360074 1Y//1 420 1 1 1
6360074 2Y//1 420 1 1 2
There are just a couple of light marks around the spindle hole on each side, to indicate this has not seen heavy play and has been handled well. Both labels are very clean and free from writing with no paper loss.
The vinyl is also very clean, easily reaching an Excellent grade, with just a few very light paper scuffs, and has just a few small cosmetic axial marks, which have no effect on play.
A really nice example of this extremely hard to find pressing on the highly collectable Vertigo Swirl label, this is the first copy we have ever had!
Highly recommended for all prog, jazz-rock & Canterbury sound enthusiasts, especially fans of King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Soft Machine, Gong, Camel, Van der Graaf Generator, Samurai, National Health, Nucleus, the list goes on!

2. Charing Cross
3. Thank Christ For George
4. It Could Only Happen To Me | | CATAPILLA Catapilla (Very Rare 1971 UK 4-track vinyl LP on
the Vertigo 'swirl' label, a much sought after and
groundbreaking early fusion of jazz and progressive rock,
complete with 'Swirl' poly-lined company inner, gatefold
picture sleeve) See 'More Info' for further details of this
rare gem ...
Tracklisting: An interesting and essential blend of progressive Jazz Rock that managed to avoid the symphonic sounds of their contemporaries. this is the first of just two album releases by the band, both of which are now quite rightly very collectable indeed.
Condition
The sleeve shows a degree of shelfwear & edge scuffing & while far from being the worst we've ever seen, it's not the best either. Not being laminated, this sleeve was prone to all sorts of wear, and this one is typical.
That being said, nothing is to excess and the sleeve retains its 'vintage' feel and, although far from perfect, it remains very acceptable.
The massive redemption for this copy is that the vinyl remains in spectacular condition with just the one groove either side that it was born with. There are no obvious surface scuffs of any kind evident and very little sign of play at all. I doubt very much that you could find better vinyl than this.
A nice copy of one of the most sought after 'swirl' releases with the usual condition sleeve but far above average vinyl.

The sleeve shows very little in the way of general shelfwear, with just a little scuffing evidednt on the edges and spine. Not being laminated, this sleeve was prone to all sorts of wear, but mercifully this one has avoided the fate that befell most.
