First issue 1971 US 28-track double LP release on the gold & black Yazoo label - Documents raw, fun, primal, emotive, home-grown music of the highest order from one of the key figures in modern song, pasted gatefold picture sleeve with integral 8-page lyric booket with extensive album notes right down to the years & tuning pitches used & rare photos. The sleeve(which displays some pen annotationsto the reverse) shows light age discolouration with some noticable ringwear but is free from splits or tears with the booklet secure. The vinyl has light cosmetic wear and paper scuffs leaving it VG+/EX-. A really nice copy! L-1020)

CHARLEY PATTON Screamin' And Hollerin' The Blues (Amazing 2001 UK SEVEN CD box set designed to look like a book set of 78RPM records, containing all of the recordings made between 1929 and 1934 by the Mississippi singer / guitarist for such legendary labels as Vocalion & Paramount. Inside the wonderful 12" x 10.5" embossed & textured slipcase box is a bound book. Inside this book, the wonders continue with a facsimile of the pocket book about him by John Fahey, then over one hundred full size pages giving biography & discography information, replicas of the original adverts that featured on the 78 sleeves, then page after page of stickers of the 78RPM labels for the featured tracks. The CDs themselves are mounted on cardboard replicas of old 78s, slipped into replicas of the original paper sleeves and bound into the sumptuous book-like album. Not only Charley but also recordings that influenced him and those by his contemporaries are featured. Both the box and its contents & discs remain in wonderful near 'as new' condition)
