In the late sixties, Jef's musical explorations led him to the ex-French colony of Madagascar, the island just off the south eastern coast of Africa. Re-released by Jazzman Records in recent years, the album documents an incredible ethno-jazz sound as & when it was released, with instruments including the valiha [a Madagascan harp on bambo], the ondioline and exotic percussion mixed with modal jazz! Recently acquired from a private dealer in Paris, here we have a stunning archive copy from the vaults, complete with original four-page 'Palm Journal' press release in French.
