KEANE October Woman (Rare original 1965 UK 10-track MONO LP on
the deep groove lemon Argo label, fully laminated top & bottom
flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve has some minor wear with asplit to
the bottom left open corner, some light laminate creasing and general
storage wear, with just a little discolouration to the reverse but is
otherwise very good, the vinyl remains excellent with only a few light
cosmetic surface scuffs and looks barely played, with glossy sheen
and clean labels. See more info DA33)
Tracklisting: October Woman is an early set from Michael Garrick with his signature progressive leanings already in place, particularly on Anthem and Fairies Of Oneiros, with the former's ''free' blowing over a 5/4 pulse using only the notes of the scale on which the piece is built'. Features Garrick alongside Coleridge Goode [bass], Colin Barnes [drums], Joe Hariott [alto-sax] and Shake Keane [trumpet]. Recently reissued, so here is your chance to purchase the original!

British Jazz 1972 UK-only 4-track stereo LP on the yellow Argo
label, also starring Don Rendell, Norma Winstone, Henry
Lowther & more. Includes the outstanding 'Epiphany', which
was also released as a single. The matte picture sleeve is in
Excellent condition with very little shelf wear, no writing or
splits & all print is clearly legible including along the spine.
The vinyl is Excellent to Near Mint with few signs of any play.

1968 UK 9-track deep groove MONO LP on a lemon Argo label,
also starring Ian Carr, Joe Harriott, Don Rendell, Tony Coe,
Dave Green & Trevor Tomkins, with additional drum work &
poetry fromColin Barnes, lending a quirky, decidedly British
feel to the whole. Highlights are the Indian raga inspired title
track plus the wonderful modal workout 'Ursula', the latter
compiled on Volume Two of Gilles Peterson's 'Impressed With'
compilation. Complete with the original '68' dated die-cut
inner, the picture sleeve is front laminated & in Excellent
condition with just a little faint ageing to the laminate & very
minor foxing on the back. The vinyl is nice & clean & grades
Excellent to Near Mint with barely any signs of play.

6-track LP, a fantastic British Jazz longplayer from Garrick
with vocals by Norma Winstone plus the notable talents of Don
Rendell, Henry Lowther, Art Themen, Dave Green, Coleridge
Goode &Trevor Tomkins. Includes the vocal track Fellow
Feeling dedicated to Joe Harriott. The picture sleeve is Very
Good with some edge scuffing & light ring wear - there is a
price sticker tear in the top right corner not affecting the
main print.There is no writing & all print remains legible. The
vinyl is clean & grades EX/EX- with some faint cosmetic signs
of its age not affecting playback. So tricky to find! ZDA163)

The sleeve [EX] shows only light laminate creasing at the
edges, with some slight discolouration to the reverse. There is
4" of surface paper loss to the unlaminated strip along the
bottom of the top flipback which has little impact on the
appearance of the sleeve. The vinyl is in superb condition,
with just a couple oflight hairlines and a few light cosmetic
marks. It is graded as EX/EX-. A fantastic example of British

Condition
The sleeve is clean with sharp edges & shows just a little light ring wear on the surface of the laminate, meaning the print below is still vivid and clear, with the white of the text still bright. There is only light laminate creasing at the edges and just the smallest area of laminate lift at the bottom left corner. The glossy black cover still retains a wonderful modern impact. The reverse has very few signs of age, with just flipbacks showing a little light yellowing. The flipbacks are secure & there is 4" of surface paper loss to the unlaminated strip along the bottom of the top flipback, which has little impact on the appearance of the sleeve. The sleeve is graded as Excellent.
The vinyl has received a deep clean on a high end Matrix machine. It is in superb condition and retains a deep sheen, with just a couple of light hairlines and a few light cosmetic marks, which thanks to the high standard of sixties vinyl have minimal impact on sound quality. The labels show very little evidence of spindle wear, indicating sparse and careful play. It is graded as EX/EX-. A fantastic example of a highly sought after pressing! |
