A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...

NICHOLAS GREENWOOD Cold Cuts (2004 US issue limited edition 10-track LP pressed on 180gram VIRGIN VINYL, originally released in 1972 by the member of Arthur Brown's Crazy World who left to produce this extraordinary specimen of musical creativity and a prog-psych classic, presented in a memorably hideous 'meat carcass' picture sleeve - sealed)

Tracklisting: 1. A Sea Of Holy Pleasure Parts I, II, III 2. Hope / Ambitions 3. Corruptions 4. Lead Me On 5. Big Machine 6. Close The Doors 7. Melancholy 8. Images 9. Promised Land 10. Realisation And Death
NICHOLAS GREENWOOD Cold Cuts (Amazing legendary 1972 UK 10-track LP by the ex-Crazy World bass player. A hammond rich British prog/psyche classic with great songs & fantastic arrangements that sits somewhere in style between Arthur Brown's CrazyWorld & the later Kingdom Come albums, fully laminated meat sculpture picture sleeve. Finding a copy of this album in perfect condition is difficult enough, so we had to get Nicholas' own personal copy [He has signed & dated the inner tothis effect]. The sleeve is beautiful, the vinyl immaculate, and it's autographed by the man himself - What more do you want ? KVL9002)

Tracklisting: Nick Greenwood was a big part in the Crazy World of Arthur Brown’s acclaimed 'Crazy world OF Arthur Brown' LP, and when he left him in 1969 to pursue a solo career, he started to work on one of the most eclectic and beautiful examples of musical creativity. Released in 1972 on Kingdom Records & listed as #73 in the Record Collector list of 200 top collectable LPs. Personnel :- Nicholas Greenwood / bass, vocals, effects Bunk Gardner / woodwinds Dick Henningham / organ Eric Peachey / drums Bryn Howarth / Guitar Chris Pritchard / guitar The Tear Drops / harmony vocals The overall effect is like having a 'Volume Two' of the original 'Crazy World' album with Nick doing a sterling effort on vocals & Dick Henningham's Hammond work echoing the majesty of Vince Crane. All tracks were written between the two of them. Being a lifelong Arthur Brown fan, to finally get to hear this album was a treat. It really does stand up today as a great album & should have catapulted Nick to fame, although it was not to be, as it was perhaps released a couple of years too late. By 1970, Vince Crane's own Atomic Rooster had pretty much cornered the heavy Hammond prog market & Arthur's Kingdom Come were in full swing. The subtle yet powerful arrangements are aided by Bunk Gardner's woodwinds, fresh from the Mothers of Invention & Khan's Eric Peachey's solid backbeat. Nice also to hear Bryn Haworth's guitar work, which is never over-used but instead creates a lyrical counterpoint pinned on the main melodies of some of the songs. Condition :- Well, as this was Nick's personal copy, it could have been in any condition at all but I'm pleased to say it's as near mint as it is possible to find. The fully laminated sleeve shows just a few little laminate creases at the very edges that would have been impossible to avoid. To all intents and purposes it is as mint as it is possible to be, though strictly graded EX+. The vinyl too shows little sign of play & no surface marks. On very close inspection you can spot one or two hairline spindle marks near the centre hole but once again is as near mint as makes no difference. Upon play grading, there is no crackle & loud passages have no evident breakup in sound quality. The vinyl is heavyweight & absolutely bleedin' marvellous. Nick has signed the plain paper inner sleeve with the message 'This is my personal copy, Best Regards' & dated his signature. Tracklisting :- 1- A Sea Of Holy Pleasure Part I Part II Part III 2- Hope And Ambitions 3- Corruption 4- Lead Me On 5- Big Machine 6- Close The Doors 7- Melancholy 8- Images 9- Promised Land 10- Realisation And Death This really is a one-off stunner. I want it. You won't regret picking this copy up as unfortunately I can't afford it [But I STILL want it!].
