A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
 | OZ No. 29 - Female Energy (1970 UK forty eight page magazine with
cover 'borrowed' from the design of a certain famous washing powder
of the period, featuring articles pertaining to 'Girl Power' long before
the term was a twinkle in any Svengali's eye. The articles include 'New
Ways With Play Clothes', 'The Kiss Of The Lash', one on Cocaine, 'The
Politics Of Female Sexuality', 'Conversations with Anais Nin' & more.
The issue naturally includes the usual letters, adverts & cartoons thatwe have all come to know and love. This copy is in wonderful condition
with just a little light wear & a light centre crease to show for being
over forty years old, with no staining rips or tears - Wonderful!) | | OZ No. 30 (Dating from October 1970, this rare issue of the
groundbreaking cult magazine includes both a tribute to Jimi Hendrix
by Germaine Greer and the extremely rare original fold out poster
with a great design by Mike McImmerney on the front& an exposé on
Underground Films on the back. The rest of the forty eight pages are
jam packed with articles, including travel guides & drug guides,
reviews, letters & more. There is a little tearing of the cover at the
staples, but this is minor, the rest of the magazine being in wonderful,
suitably groovy, condition!) | | OZ No. 36 (Superb 1971 UK fifty two page cult magazine that set the
ball rolling for so many other publications now common on newstands.
Groundbreaking & intelligent, at the time deemed 'underground', it
tackled issues that at the time were taboobut are now discussed quite
freely. As a guide, it makes 'Viz' look like 'The Beano'. Containing
travel articles, drug advice, a guide to 'Obscenity', readers letters &
much more. The magazine itself is in superb condition & free from any
ripsor tears, complete with the extremely rare double sided fold out
poster with Janis Joplin on one side & an appeal for donations for their
Obscenity trial on the other!) | | OZ No. 32 - Granny's Oz (This, the first issue of 1971, was subtitled
the 'Emergency Issue' as its thirty six 12" pages were mostly devoted
to fundraising for the obscenity trial caused by the furore surrounding
issue twenty eight, but also included an interview with Muddy Waters
contributed by Charles Shaar Murray, an article on 'pure' foodstuffs,
American deserters in Sweden & the usual letters, adult cartoons &
general whimsy. The cover on this issue has a tear on the back, but no
paper loss, with the front having just one small nick at the edge. Apart
from this, all contents are in fantastic condition with each page still in
the same condition as the day it was printed. A marvellous forty year
old history book of sorts in superb condition, a fitting companion to
issue twenty eight!) |
