A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
| OZ No. 33 (Rare 1971 UK forty eight page magazine that set
the ball rolling for so many other publications now common on
newstands. Groundbreaking & intelligent, at the time deemed
'underground', it tackled issues that were then taboo but arenowdiscussed quite freely. Amongst the goodies in this issue
are many related to anarchy & other popular Underground
themes of the time, the avoidance of violence, Buddy Holly,
Tim Leary, alternative uses for farm animals & more, along
with theusual cartoons, letters & period adverts, including one
on the back for the Gala Benefit for the obscenity trial. This
copy is in wonderful condition with minimal wear or creasing
& no rips or tears, incredible for forty year old paper goods!) | | OZ No. 27 - Acid Oz (1970 UK forty eight page magazine with most of
the articles inside devoted to various aspects of the truth, the hype &
the mania surrounding Lysergic Acid Diethylamide in particular & drugs
in general, including articles on Charles Manson, Love, Teen Idols,
reviews, letters & various wonderful adult cartoons. This copy is in
marvellous condition with minimal wear & no creases or tears, showing
off the bizarre Robert Crumb cover to full effect!) | | OZ No. 32 - Granny's Oz (This, the first issue of 1971, was subtitled
the 'Emergency Issue' as its thirty six 12" pages were mostly devoted
to fundraising for the obscenity trial caused by the furore surrounding
issue twenty eight, but also included an interview with Muddy Waters
contributed by Charles Shaar Murray, an article on 'pure' foodstuffs,
American deserters in Sweden & the usual letters, adult cartoons &
general whimsy. The cover on this issue has a tear on the back, but no
paper loss, with the front having just one small nick at the edge. Apart
from this, all contents are in fantastic condition with each page still in
the same condition as the day it was printed. A marvellous forty year
old history book of sorts in superb condition, a fitting companion to
issue twenty eight!) |
