by David Bowie who also provides backing vocals. 'Oscar' AKA 'Paul
Dean' became better known as Paul Nicholas in the early 70s after the
success of several West End Musicals in whichhe starred. The B-side,
'Every Day Of My Life' was written by Paul Beuselinck - his real
name!) | | OSCAR Over The Wall We Go (Rare 1967 UK 7" vinyl single written

centre, backed with Waking Up, plain die cut sleeve. Superb mod
groover replete with fuzz guitar and Motown-esque stomping rhythm
throughout. Oscar is actually future 'Hair/Jesus Christ Superstar' and
'80s sitcom fave Paul Nicholas [he was a face on the '60s London mod
scene and recorded songs by Pete Townshend and David Bowie].
Visually the vinyl is graded VG/VG- with some noticeable
scuffs/hairlines and a small stickermark to the label but playtesting
reveals no great loss in sound - making this a more than acceptable
play copy of this rare-as-hen's-teeth '60s '45 - this is the first copy
we've had too!) |
