A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
 | THE ATTACK Try It (Very Rare January 1967 UK 'A' label
demonstration vinyl 7" for the debut single release by the short-lived
Garage Psych/Mod combo from London, with custom 'Demonstration
Sample - Not For Sale' print, '27-1-67' release date text& four-prong
centre. Also features the belting b-side 'We Don't Know', complete
with period die-cut Decca company sleeve. The vinyl has been play
tested & the sound is fantastic with no jumps. The vinyl grades VG-
with light surface wear, multiple paper hairlines & scuff marks causing
minor background surface during playback. Note: there is a tiny
scratch on the b-side causing a few faint clicks on rotation. Thanks to
the quality of British Decca pressings of this period, condition is mostly
cosmetic & the sound quality remains very agreeable. Far from mint,
this is still a great example for the collector F.12550) | | THE ATTACK Hi-Ho Silver Lining (1967 UK 7" single with
four-prong centre, a great mod '45 from the short-lived
London band that were much fancied at the time but sank
without trace [yes it's the same song made famous by Jeff
Beck, but this wasfirst!]. Head to the b-side & you get the
almighty self-penned rocker 'Any More Than I Do', die-cut
company sleeve. The vinyl grades VG [small 'x' mark on the
b-side] with light spindle marks & paper hairlines which have
little effect, pricedadvanageously F.12578) | | THE ATTACK Final Daze (2001 Italian pressed UK issue limited edition

Garage Psych/Mod combo from London, also featuring the
belting b-side 'We Don't Know'. This new Singles Club release
has replica open logo Decca blue labels and is housed inside a
period-correct replica Decca Records a new world of
sound company sleeve. Hype sticker & factory sealed)
Tracklisting: 'Try It' was the first of just four singles that London-based quintet The Attack released in their brief but brilliant career, and the only one to feature original drummer Alan Whitehead, who left shortly after this to join Marmalade. The A-side was also recorded by acclaimed US Garage Rock band The Standells, but it is the self-written Hammond organ driven B-Side 'We Don't Know' that gets fans of great '60s Pop excited, which might explain why they are willing to pay top dollar for an original copy.
Guitarist and singer Davy O'List left The Attack a few months later, and had a brief spell deputising for Syd Barrett in Pink Floyd, before forming The Nice with keyboard player Keith Emerson.
