THE BLOCKHEADS Twist & Shout (1982 UK 12" vinyl single, featuring the 6:44 & 3:07 versions plus Take Out The Lead, picture sleeve STAT2812)
THE BLOCKHEADS Staring Down The Barrel (2009 UK 10-track CD album - They're back! Or at least, they would be if they had ever gone away - but the truth is that since Ian Dury's sad passing in March 2000, the original band members have continued to tour and record, playing both classic hits alongside newer material. For a while they filled Ian's nigh-on unfillable shoes with uber-fans such as Mark Lamarr and Phil Jupitus, but since 2002 they have been fronted by Derek The Draw, who wasboth driver and friend to Ian during much of his career. Since they are both Essex boys and shared a common outlook on life, it is fair to say that Derek's lyrics and style of delivery are a perfect fit for the Blockheads. The touring and recording band is filled out with Dylan Howe on drums and sax-madman Gilad Atzmon. New tracks like the lead single 'Greed' sit comfortably alongside those hits that are now such a part of the fabric of British pop history. The man behind the music is, as it always was, the great Chaz Jankel who has managed to recreate the jazz/funk sound of the Blockheads but with a new twist that brings them effortlessly up-to-date and helps them stay entirely relevant now. Comes complete with artwork designed by the legendary Peter Blake.)

Tracklisting: 1. Roll Over 2. Greed 3. A Little Knowledge 4. George The Human Pigeon 5. No Go Central 6. Prophet Of Doom 7. Hold Tight 8. Life In Your Hands 9. Dirty Money 10. Elegant Style
