A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
| THE HIGH NUMBERS I'm The Face (1980 French wide centred
7" single, also featuring Zoot Suit, originally released in July
1964 as the debut recording by The Who with reversed sides
& no picture sleeve. Here is the unique & very rare
French-onlypicture sleeve, surely the best design out there!
The cover is in stark monochrome with a Roger Daltrey
silhouette on the front & a groovy Vertigo swirl logo on the
back. There is a small & unobtrusive biro name penned on the
side two label &the sleeve shows some corner creasing from
ring wear & some light cosmetic marks from handling, as to
be expected for a French release. It is virtually impossible to
find this any better & this is our first example. The vinyl
grades VG+/EX- with a few faint paper hairline scuffs not
affecting play) | | THE HIGH NUMBERS I'm The Face (1980 UK injection moulded Back
Door label issue of 1964 7" vinyl single released by THE WHO
under this temporary name [July to October 1964] prior to the release
of their legendary 1965 debut album, with bothtracks written by their
then manager Phil Meaden, also including Zoot Suit [the sides were
reversed for this reissue, Zoot Suit was the original A-side]. The
monochrome picture sleeve has minimal shelfwear while the vinyl itself
appears barely played! DOOR4)

B1. Zoot Suit | | THE HIGH NUMBERS I'm The Face/Zoot Suit (1991 UK limited edition
2-track CD single from the pre Keith Moon The Who, replica Fontana
label design picture sleeve and housed in a numbered stickered case
TFCD480)
Tracklisting: 1. I'm The Face
2. Zoot Suit | | THE HIGH NUMBERS Zoot Suit (Super rare and highly sought after
debut recording by a pre-Keith Moon The Who, original 1964 UK
Fontana 7" vinyl single with textured 'Factory Sample' stickered 'Mono'
label with anti-slip ring and intact 3-prong centre, die-cut company
sleeve. Top '60s Mod action from this early incarnation of the band,
Zoot Suit is their take on the US R&B tune 'Misery' [The Dynamics]
backed with 'I'm The Face' a cheeky re-work of Slim Harpo's Mod fave
'Got LoveIf You Want It'. The lyrics to both [and band name] were
created by manager Pete Meaden, designed to capitalise on their
growing Mod fanbase. The B-side gained more radio play/popularity
than the A-side and this copy [most likely a radio station copy] has
the B-side over-stickered with an 'A', indicating which side to play. The
vinyl is strictly graded VG, with some light hairlines visible but no
impact on play and sounds great. This is the first copy of this
landmark and highly collectable '45 we've ever offered for sale and
comes highly recommended TF480 | | THE HIGH NUMBERS I'm The Face (1980 UK wide-centred
jukebox issue of the 1964 7" single, released by THE
WHO under this temporary name [July to October 1964]
prior to the release of their legendary 1965 debut album. Also
festures 'ZootSuit' [the sides were reversed for this issue,
Zoot Suit was the original A-side], with both tracks written by
then manager Phil Meaden, plain white die-cut paper sleeve.
The vinyl still looks barely played DOOR4)
