A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
 | ZBIGNIEW NAMYSLOWSKI Winobranie - Polish Jazz Vol. 33
(Hard to find 1973 Polish 5-track LP by the great saxophonist
(the first Polish jazz musician to receive an international
longplayer release), recorded in Warsaw with Tomasz
Szukalski on soprano & tenor, Wojciech ('Easy') Karolak on
piano, Pawel Jarzebski, bass and Czeslaw Bartowski, drums.
The picture sleeve has some edge scuffing but is otherwise
very good - the vinyl looks barely played! SXLO952)
Tracklisting: A1 Winobranie = Wine Feast
A2 Jak Nie Masz Szmalu To Jest Laz = No Dough, No Kicks 9:55
A3 Nie Mniej Niz 5% = No Less Than Five Per Cent 6:35
A4 Gogoszary 4:40
B1 Pierwsza Przymiarka = First Take
B2 Ballada Na Grzedzie = Ballad On The Roost
B3 Misie = Teddy Bears 14:05
B4 Taj Mahal - Winobranie = Wine Feast | | ZBIGNIEW NAMYSLOWSKI MODERN JAZZ QUARTET Lola (Rare and
desirable test pressing of the 1964 UK 8-track LP in its
STEREO form. Not only are stock copies rare, stereo issues appear to
be harder still, let alone a stereo test pressing! The custom
two-colour label has 'factory sample not for sale' print and hand
annotated catalogue and artist information enscrawled to the centre.
These copies were made in extremely small numbers for sonic review
purposes only, and not to beissued to journalists or radio before the
promotion stage. Stars the acclaimed alto saxophonist Namyslowski
alongside Wlodzimierz [Wlodek] Gulgowski on piano, Tadeusz Wojcik
bass and drummer Czeslaw Bartkowski. Recorded at London's Decca
Studios, this is historically the first album by a Polish jazz musician
outside of Poland. Opens with the marvellous original Pekna Lola,
Kwiat Polnocy (Beautiful Lola, Flower Of The North) and closes with a
lively version of Ol' Man River! Housed in a die-cut inner, the vinyl
appears to have hardly been played at all. A wonderful piece of
European jazz history SKL4644)

8. Ol' Man River | | ZBIGNIEW NAMYSLOWSKI Air Condition (1980 Polish 6-track vinyl LP
featuring a healthy slab of Polskie Jazz, led by the inimitable alto
saxophonist . The picture sleeve displays signs of shelfwearand edge
creasing which is mostly due to its thin nature, the vinyl has only
minor surface marks - A great play copy SX2303)
Tracklisting: Nice To See You
After Dinner Walk
Seven/Eleven
Follow Your Kite
Waltz For Two
Load Off Mind | | ZBIGNIEW NAMYSLOWSKI THE Q Cy To Blues Cy Nie Blues (Scarce
1989 Polish jazz 6-track LP, also starring Jakub Stankiewicz on piano,
Dariusz Oleszkiewicz on bass, Jerzy Glód, drums and Jose Torres,
percussion. Given the flimsy nature of the sleevesome edge wear is
evident, however this remains a very good example with the print still
a nice off-white. The vinyl meanwhile looks barely played PSJ-199)
