THE DOORS L.A. Woman (1971 UK butterfly label 10-track LP, a curious, largely undocumented, pressing between the first & second batch. The cover is the original die-cut bevelled corner design with the printed clear plastic window & embossed artist title. These pressings include a yellow inner depicting a disturbing image of a naked girl [or Jim Morrison?] being crucified on a telegraph pole, but the yellow inner with this example does not feature it & is simply plain yellow. Censorship? The back cover has a custom 'Re-distributed by EMI Records Ltd' sticker attached, which may go some way to explain this, perhaps withdrawn, example. The labels are machine stamped A1/B1 [the past owner has hand etched their name into the run-out groove & actually looks very neat & doesn't detract from this copy or have any effect on play]. The cover was always prone to bowing due to the design & this copy has just a little light creasing in addition & some mild edge scuffing. The vinyl appears Excellent with merely a little spindle wear on the labels to highlight play K42090)
