ROLLING STONES Pop Hit Parade (Impossibly rare 1964 UK concert programme for the Pop Hit Parade at the Wembley Empire Pool on Sunday May 31st. The event was compered by David Jacobs and shows the Stones quite low down the line-up, behind AdamFaith, The Hollies, The Barron Knights and Freddie & The Dreamers amongst others! Despite this one page is given over to mini-biographies of each member of the band [Charlie Watts is the 'Beau Brummell' of the group and has over 100 pocket hankerchiefs!] with a moody publicity shot, as well as a full-page advertisment for their first album, single & EP! The programme measures 5½"x 8½" with a nice Sixties font title picture cover with the price of one shilling printed along the bottom. Obtained from its one previous owner who attended the event in '64 & left it under lock & key ever since, storing it complete with TWO original ticket stubs! The programme has a shallow fold through the centre with no loose pages & has what looks like tea stains to the reverse, no doubt sustained over enthusiastic chatter in a cafe after the event! Both tickets have been folded twice with all text still clear & legible. A fantastic collector's item)
