Tracklisting & More Information

As emblematic of its time as of its sorcerer-like creator, 1967's Are You Experienced? unleashed Jimi Hendrix onto a world in the midst of such cultural and musical shake-ups that it really didn't seem as 'far out' as it actually was.
It wasn't just Hendrix's virtuosic skill as a pure player that was so impressive, it was even more the range and scope of sheer sound that he coaxed, cajoled and ripped out of his instrument. His songs filled ears with indelible sonic images and songs like 'Foxy Lady' and '3rd Stone From The Sun' pointed the way toward a new brand of rock-charged soul music.

Condition
Housed in the original front laminated picture sleeve manufactured by Ernest J Day, the cover is nice & clean with creases to the laminate and edgewear. There is a medium amount of scuffing to the spine, obscuring some of the text. The artwork still looks superb & the cover remains a nice overall example.

The labels are black with silver print & large Track Record logo at the top. There are some spindle marks visible around the centre to show play, the labels remain otherwise clean with no writing or tears.

The matrix numbers are machine stamped, thus:
Side One 612001 A1
Side Two 612001 B1

The vinyl has been professionally cleaned on a top of the line Matrix machine. The vinyl reveals some minor general hairlines & surface scuffs which have little effect on play, thanks to the quality of sixties vinyl pressings from this period. The mono playback does not stray & the album sounds fantastic, as well it should. This is a solid VG example and generally pleasing, well-kept one owner copy overall.
