SYD BARRETT The Madcap Laughs (Rare 1970 UK first issue 13-track vinyl LP on the Harvest label with 'The Gramophone Co., Ltd' text and without the EMI logo. Syd's debut solo album finally appeared two years after leaving Pink Floyd, with Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters producing. This is a brilliant but brittle album, with every strum of the electric guitar seeming to take its toll on Barrett's increasingly frayed nerve strings; front laminated gatefold picture sleeve with a dull blue-green Harvest logo in lower left corner on the front and EMI company catalogue inner. The sleeve [VG+] shows ligth wear around the edges with just a small strip of sun fading to the top edge & no seam splits; there is a name and catalogue annotation to Side 1, with just a little faint foxing The vinyl is graded VG+/VG with a few light hairlines and a more pronounced scuff to Side 2, but nothing to trouble playback. A great copy of this psych masterpiece SHVL765)
