IRON BUTTERFLY In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (Rare 1969 Japanese 6-track stereo vinyl LP, manufactured by Nippon Grammophon with custom blue & green Atlantic labels, the first Japanese issue of this brooding psych/proto-metal classic, housed in a heavy duty front laminated & internally pasted gatefold sleeve with English lyrics across the inner spread and stereo logo on the front + the 1800 Yen price as featured ont he obi echoed on the back cover. The sleeve is in fabulous shape for its age with only two notecable creases in the lamiante to the otherwise quite glorious front panel. The back panel and spine are free of wear and look fantastic, bright vivid with not even a hint of crushing to the spine. The obi with 'MT-1054' catalogue number and price point has just a couple of light hairlines to the front with a very tiny side tear but this hasn't chipped or mishapen the edge. The pasted inner spread is all intact along with the flipside of the obi and though due to the unlaminated surface has some overall foxing through age, displays no other wear, rips, tears, unpeeling or writing. The vinyl is near 'as new' with barely any sign of play - overall a fantastic copy, now over 50 years on and the first of this variant we've seen SMT-1054)
